Apple Music for Android is getting a major Liquid Glass-inspired redesign in its 7.0 beta, 9to5Google reports. The update brings Apple's translucent design language to the Android app roughly a year after it first appeared across Apple platforms.
The beta is available now through the Play Store listing or the app's testing page. According to 9to5Google, Apple Music 7.0 aligns with iOS 27, following the versioning system the Android app adopted with its previous release. Beta testing usually lasts a few weeks, and these builds are generally fairly stable.
What the Liquid Glass redesign changes on Android
The most visible change is a floating bottom bar that lets content show through above, below and around it. It has a small amount of translucency, so solid colors underneath remain mostly visible. The mini-player sits above it with the same treatment and is no longer docked to the bottom bar.
Unlike Liquid Glass on iOS, scrolling does not collapse the bar into a more compact version. Everything stays in place as you move through the app. Top bars have also been refreshed, with the page title and overflow menu now on the same line, and the three-dot icons moved into circular containers instead of their previous red theme.
The Library tab gets the biggest update, with Edit Pins and Edit Categories moved into the overflow menu. Apple Music 7.0 also adds an edge-to-edge design for the status and navigation bars.
- Floating bottom bar with light translucency
- Mini-player no longer docked to the bottom bar
- Bar does not collapse while scrolling, unlike iOS
